And We Wait... But Not Quietly!

While the budget continues to be floating somewhere in ether or limbo between the Council and the Mayor, the Coalition has been actively working with the City to resolve the deficit, which is now about $100 million which is far less than the $600 million just a month ago.  


The Guild has been waiting (not so patiently) and seeking information, but after two weeks all we know is that the Coalition is still working as hard as it can to convince the majority of the city council to support the services that our communities need and want. 


The Guild was instrumental in getting layoff notices not sent last week in the hopes of an impending resolution, and I keep reminding the Coalition leadership that the clock to layoff notices continues to tick ever faster for our department.
